Kirah Van Sickle!
Franklin Square Gallery announces a new art lecture series by the well-known artist and educator Kirah Van Sickle. Held at Franklin Square Gallery, the 6-part series covers topics of interest to artists and those who love art.
Each lecture is from 3:00 - 5:00p.m. and the attendance fee is $15.00.

Kirah Van Sickle is an artist and adventurer at heart. Her early years set a foundation for travel, exploration and visual storytelling. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, Master of Science in Medical Illustration from the Medical College of Georgia, and Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the Academy of Art University, in San Francisco. She managed her creative consulting company, Animania, for 18 years, before transitioning to higher education. She is an adjunct instructor at the Cameron Art Museum, Cape Fear Community College and Johnston Community College.

QUILT SHOW: 8/25-9/20
August 25 - September 19, the Gallery will host the popular Oak Island Beach Quilters exhibit featuring unique, hand-crafted quilts. This year’s design theme is “creative borders.” As always, visitors will be invited to vote for their favorite quilts.

FSG CLASS SHOW: 9/22-10/18
EMPTY BOWLS: 10/14 (11-2pm) Trinity UM Church
AAS members invite the public to support Empty Bowls 2025, a fundraiser to fight hunger and food insecurity in Brunswick County “one bowl at a time.” Artists at the Gallery are creating hundreds of hand-painted ceramic bowls which will be given to supporters to take home, along with a simple meal of soup and bread, at the Empty Bowls event on October 14 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport. The event also features a silent auction and raffle with items donated by local merchants and AAS members. Tickets are $30 each, available at the Gallery or online at www.franklinsquaregallery.com. All proceeds will be donated to Matthew’s Ministry, Brunswick Assistance and the SOIIF Food Pantry.
