Meet Our Judges!
Sabine Baeckmann 2D
Denise Jordan 3D
Denise Jordan was born in Roanoke Rapids and later raised in Raleigh. She attended ECU where she earned her BFA in Ceramics with a minor in Art Education. She shared her studio and learned from Ben Owen III during and after college while working in Seagrove.
For the last 35 years Denise has been a part-time potter and pottery instructor while working days in medical sales and later, teaching school. In 2019 she returned to live in her family home in Roanoke Rapids and pursue her pottery as a full-time venture. Denise’s primary inspiration is the water, as she has lived by the lake, the ocean, and the Intracoastal over the years. With roots in traditional pottery making, her work has become more sculptural over the years. The evolution continues!
